Christmas card

I was asked to create an illustration for the Leiden Cultural Fund's Christmas card and was given carte blanche, so it was okay if it was a little controversial.

The terrible violence in Israel, the war in Ukraine, the ongoing unrest in West Africa, the growing polarisation and intolerance worldwide show that peace is extremely fragile... and cannot be taken for granted. It is important not to lose hope, but hope today is fragile and uprooted. I feel like time is running out.
